At the end of the year 1929, the department has five qualified planners from Britain and placed in FMS With Reade retirement in 1929
R.P. Davies was appointed the new Government Town Planner to succeed C. C. Reade. It was also during this time that the services of Town Planning Department - centred in kuala Lumpur - was extended to the other Federated Malay States, including Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. It helped to create a basis for the eventual spread of town planning in the country.
