Descripción:

The Congress of Vienna, led by Austrian Foreign Minister Klemens von Metternich, was a meeting of conservative leaders following the defeat of Napoleon. The three goals of the congress were to return power to old rulers, such as the Bourbons in France, to ensure a balance of power in Europe, done by creating the German Confederation and the creation of the Netherlands, and to ensure that the countries who fought Napoleon recieved just compensation (done by the exchange of colonies an reperations payed by France. It was also agreed that the Quadruple alliance of Great Britain, Austria, Russia, and Prussia, along with France, would meet every 2 years in what was called the "Concert of Europe". This was done to ensure the three goals were still being upheld.
