Presidency of Lazaro Cardenas (1 dic 1934 año – 30 nov 1940 año)
Descripción:
Cardenas succeeded Calles as president of Mexico, though Calles was expected to maintain his power from the background. However, Cardenas outmaneuvered Calles and forced him into exile. Cardenas distributed a very large amount of land to peasants, supported unions and strikes, and nationalized the petroleum industry. He also reorganized the PRI, but unintentionally making it easier for future regimes to exercise authoritarian controls. His presidency is still regarded as more of a failure than a success.
He was president from 1934-1940
