Reign of King Rimush, son of Sargon the Great and Queen Tashlultum.

Rimush's rule was heralded by a number of revolts in Sumerian cities, which he had to swiftly reconquer. There is also evidence that he went to war against the eastern states of Elam and Marhashi in the area now known as the Iranian Plateau.

He is thought to have been assassinated, after which his brother Manishtushu ascended to the throne. Some historians have speculated that Manushtushu ordered the assassination, but there is no substantial evidence to back up this claim.
