Marbury v Madison (11 feb 1803 año – 24 feb 1803 año)

Descripción:

After Thomas Jefferson was elected president in 1801, his administration passed the Judiciary Act of 1801. This act created new courts, added judges, and gave the president more control over the appointment of judges. Chief justice John Marshall decided that Thomas Jefferson was wrong to prevent William Marbury from taking office as a justice. This case established the policy of judicial review and set the precedent for preceding cases.
