Red Scare (1 ene 1918 año – 1 ene 1920 año)
Descripción:
A period in American history where politicians and businessmen faced a fear of a communist takeover in America. This was sparked by the “reds” (communists) seizing power in Russia, and the growth of multiple union groups within the United States. In the end, several hundred union members who had committed no crimes were arrested and deported because they were suspected of favoring a Russian-style coup against the federal government. This period shows America’s hostile stance to communism in its earliest form, which would be seen much later during the Cold War.
