with backing vocals drum, bass, keyboards and was influenced by punk, hard rock, reggae, Funk. This style came to the light after the punk era was almost at an end and was mainly important in New York and British new wave artists found it hard to make it big as this style had strong independence and it wasn’t hard for anyone to get to this. Although it was similar to punk the production was more polished and had less of a DIY feel
