English Civil War (27 oct 1642 año – 23 mayo 1651 año)
Descripción:
Charles I of England was very unpopular with the people, and tried to assert his power absolutely. Eventually he was forced to call Parliament in 1640 in order to balance the nation's budget and have stability during a war with Scotland. Charles' conflict with Parliament worsened and eventually the country broke out into a civil war that culminated in Charles' execution in 1649. The English Civil War defined redefined politics in England by taking the monarchy justified by divine right of James I and Charles I and bringing Parliament to the forefront as the chief power.
