This was the system of a very weak government when America got their independence
It had no court system, and each state was like a mini-republic that was independent
This caused problems because the government had a hard time checking the states because most of the power resided within the state
The country was close to anarchy
Rational because it seemed like a logical solution to getting away from their old ways in Britain with a monarchy
one vote per state, no cheif executive
reflected the fear of centralized authority.
