French and Indian War/Seven Years' War (29 agos 1754 año – 17 dic 1763 año)

Descripción:

fought between Great Britain and France over contested lands in Ohio country; sparked by Washington's order to fire on French soldiers in Pennsylvania; for first years of war, Britain suffers defeat after defeat to French and Indian forces; William Pitt sends money and resources to troops, invigorating them. With the Treaty of Easton, some Indians come to British side. British penetrate New France by taking Quebec and Montreal.

The war ended with the 1763 Treaty of Paris, declaring that Britain was to gain control of French Canada. Britain resettled many Acadians throughout its provinces, but also displaced many Roman Catholics.
