Descripción:

The Republic of China was founded at the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to establish China as a modern state and enter the international community. However, the government was politically weak and was heavily influenced by foreign countries like Japan. Due to political and economic turmoil from two world wars and the great depression in the US, the Republic fell to the communist party in 1949.
