Manifest Destiny and Expansion (4 jun 1815 año – 29 oct 1865 año)
Descripción:
Manifest Destiny was the idea that Americans were destined, by God, to govern the North American continent. This idea, with the transformations of culture and religious belief implied, had deep roots in American culture. The destiny of settlers in America was to expand and move across the Americas to spread their traditions, while at the same time, enlightening more undeveloped nations. Manifest destiny had serious consequences for Native Americans, because Continental expansion meant the occupation of Native American land, sometimes to expand slavery. This ultimately led to confrontations and wars with several groups of native peoples via Indian removal.
