The time period of the Early Republic portrays the first substantial years of American history in which the first president, George Washington, was in charge for a majority of the time period, serving 2 terms. After the Declaration of Independence was adopted, and the United States of America officially became a country, it was time to build greatness and freedom in the country. The United States constitution was created and signed on September 17, 1787. The Constitution established America's government and laws, and guaranteed certain rights for its citizens. After George Washington’s two terms, John Adams was elected as the second U.S president in 1797, in which he served until 1801.
