Germany had Adolf Hitler as its leader, where he proclaimed that the jewish were the cause of all their problems. He sent jewish people to concentration camps, he made allies with Russia and Japan. The nazi's tried to invade the world, which made the other countries, like America, France, Britain, and others named the allies team up and oppose the nazi invasion. Two main points of the war were the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which stopped Japanese attacks. Another turning point was when Hitler tried to invade Russia, but failed due to the weather. Russia decided to join the Allies, being a turning tide in the war. Germany surrendered on May 8, with Hitler already dead, having commited suicide on April 30. A peace settlement was made on September 2, 1975.
