Descripción:

The political center of the newly formed Yamato Japan in this era was near the Nara prefecture. While the emperor originally held the power, the power eventually fell into the hands of the Soga clan due to the constant changing of the capital, leaving the Emperor to perform ceremonial duties. This era obtained its name due to the large tombs that political leaders would be buried in after their demise.
