Descripción:

After James II was overthrown due to his apparent pro-Catholic sentiments, Parliament offered the throne to William and Mary of Orange, James’s heir and her Dutch husband. What was significant was that Parliament presented William and Mary with the Bill of Rights, destroying the idea that there was a divine right of kings, rather, a monarch had to be held accountable by the Parliament.
