In lecture, while discussing how people have different views of music creativity, the Suya were brought up. The Suya do not just make new music. They believe that when a person is sick, he/she looses his/her soul, and monsters, spirits, ancestors, animals, and outsiders teach them new music. In the 80's a researcher recorded the Suya, and sold records. The Suya believed that the song recorded originated from the bee. Should the profits have gone to the bee? The money was given to the Suya to do what they wanted with it.
