This event was a series of confrontations over the legality of slavery in the state of Kansas. In this decision, several proslavery and antislavery citizens went to affect this choice. John Brown led the antislavery forces in this case. The show of violence helped both sides to choose war. This demonstrated that in some cases slavery can be solved with violence.
