Spread of Methodism (14 oct 1735 año – 31 dic 1739 año)
Descripción:
As an offshoot of Pietism, Methodism contributed to the Protestant Revival of the 18th century. Methodism, through the support of John Wesley, spread throughout England and parts of colonial America. The 'methodical' approach to the way one was to live their life complimented well with the already present social stigma behind disappointing one's own community. Just like the societal controls put in place during this period of time, Methodism functioned as a type of control over the individual.
