Minimal Premarital Sex & Societal Controls (1 ene 1700 año – 31 dic 1750 año)
Descripción:
With fear of condemnation because of an illegitimate birth, the vast majority of unmarried couples very rarely, if ever, engaged in sexual intercourse. Contraceptives weren't nearly as developed as they are now, and the contraceptives that were there were primarily used by upper-class members of society, as they were expensive. Community controls were commonplace in the open-field village, publically shaming those that failed at legitimate birth(s). Known as charivari, the young men of the said village would gang up on a victim, force them to sit with a donkey facing backwards, holding up the donkey's tail. The victim would be paraded around, the young men speaking of the victims hideous deeds.
