The Battle of the Bulge took place on December 16, 1944, when the Germans launch the last major offensive of the war as a last attempt to push the Allied front line west from Northern France to Northwestern Belgium. It was given its name because the Germans created a “bulge” around the area of the Ardennes forest by pushing through the American defensive line. The significance of the Battle of the Bulge was that Germany's defeat and the end of the war in Europe came sooner. The Battle of the Bulge was the last major Nazi offensive in World War II. This battle was the Allies Victory.
