The council of Trent played a big part in the anti-reformation efforts by the Catholic church. The council of Trent punished those who they believed to have committed heresy and clarified the teachings of the church. The council of Trent is classified under states and other institutes of power because it tried to uphold the authority of the Catholic church in Europe.
