The 30 years war began as a local religious conflict and slowly expanded to the first Europe-wide religious war. As the war continued it became less religious and more focused on maintaining a balance of power. It was also one of the first "modern wars" as a swedish general, Gustavus Adolphus, was the first to impliment these more modern ideas of warfare.Añadido al timeline:
