Descripción:

In the begening of his rule Peter made attempts to modernize Russia in an attempt to make it a maritime power. His court was made to dress in french and western fasion and be clean shaven. These modernization attempts were met with oppositions, such as the Bulavin Rebellion. He also attempted to gean control of the Black Sea, these attempts ended in failure.
