In the beginning of the war, both troops only used airplanes to spy on t he other troops, in 1916 Germany found out their effectiveness so they started arming them with machine guns to shoot at the troops against them.

In 1915, Germany started using Chemical warfare in Belgium, which caused things like Chemical Warfare masks to be invented. The most common gas that they used was mustard gas which when exposed to the skin, causes blisters and blisters in the lungs when inhaled.

Trench Warfare was used, although it wasn't very effective, making the War not very affective for a few years, the troops only moving for a yards a day.

Germany used submarines called U-boats to attack ships in the warzone without really being detected.
