During this time period similar to that of sex and gender, I began to learn about my physical abilities versus other people within my class. In previous years, everyone would play on the same sports team and no one was too competitive or cared about the sports they played. Now, people were put in different teams ranging on skill and clear distinctions of physical ability could be made.

At this time, I felt more considerate and sympathetic of others and their ability. Also, I felt more confident in my abilities versus those of my classmates. This allowed me to continue to feel more confident and aware of the differences in abilities and skill as I began to join more higher level teams in sports, while some continued to play recreationally. I also noticed that people with higher physical abilities than others began to invest more time and effort in the sports, while the ones with lower physical abilities began to try less and focus more on other activities like school or video games.
