Other than being the daughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Harriot Stanton Blatch was a U.S. writer, and suffragist. Blatch was born in Seneca Falls, NY. She attended Vassar College, where she graduated with a degree in mathematics in 1878. Blatch became a tutor for young girls in Germany for two years. When she made a return trip to the United States, she met William Henry Blatch Jr. He was known as “Harry Blatch” though. Harriot and Harry were married in 1882. Blatch was 84 when she died.
