New Wave Cinema (1 ene 1950 año – 31 dic 1960 año)
Descripción:
During this era, a new wave of directors took the stage to produce films. They filmed using a gurrella film making style; they would just produce, and take inspiration from life. A lot of productions didn't have scripts, and were improvised.
These new wave directors believed film to be an important medium, and were originally critics. Some were auters; directors who influenced their film so much, they were effectively the one who created the production.
This was important; it shaped film as an artform, rather than just a novelty. Additionally, it allowed creators to experiment.
