The Lumiére Brothers mass producing film (1 ene 1890 año – 1 ene 1900 año)

Descripción:

During the 1890s The Lumiére Brothers Auguste and Louis Lumiére mass produced film, making it more accessible to everyone. The first film that they screened was a 46-second long cut of workers in a factory, it was very popular and audiences couldn't get enough.

The Lumiére brothers production of film changed the film industry as watching films was no longer an activity exclusive to the upper class, they made it accessible to everyone. They also screened films that were of interest to lower classes, about struggles of work. So they didn't just make films accessible to the lower class, they made films that would appeal to them because just because now that they can afford to view films, that didn't mean that they would watch what they are screening already and they realised this. This was the start of films attempting to be relatable in order to pull in new or specific audiences.
