Niels Bohr (11 ene 1912 año – 5 jun 1916 año)

Descripción:

Danish phycist Niels Bohr's design for the atom was vastly different from those that came before. In his model, the nucleus is surrounded by electrons. These electrons would be in perpetual circular motion in rings that surround the nucleus. The reason why electrons circle around the nucleus is that while the nucleus is heavy and positively charged, electrons are light and negatively charged. The two attract, so when an electron moves at the right speed it will bend towards the nucleus and just keep bending in a circle. This is often called the planetary model, as it is similar to the way that planets orbit the sun.
