For almost a week, the city is consumed in violent riots. This follows the trial of an officer who was tried and found not guilty after shooting an unarmed man who was pulled over. The riots result in burned vehicles, crowds chanting, freeways being blocked by protesters, and at least 30 buildings set on fire. Several stores are looted, and the police station is guarded by a tank. Hundreds are arrested, and 23 die, including 4 police officers.
