Descripción:

The Mali Empire, also known as Niani or The Manden Kurufaba, started as a small African Kingdom but was bolstered by rich natural resources and the fall of the Ghana Empire. The conquest of the Sosso Empire helped in opening up several important trans-Saharan trade routes to the rapidly expanding economy. A period of poor leadership and political bickering, coupled with multiple invasions led to the disintegration of the once mighty empire.
