14. Great Depression
(1929-1939) (29 oct 1929 año – 7 jun 1939 año)
Descripción:
The US stock market crashed and our economy (and the world’s) slowed to recession and depression. Thousands of businesses closed and millions of people lost their jobs. President F.D. Roosevelt experimented with many national government programs to get people working and spending money. Never before had the national government been so involved in the US economy and supporting the average American. Modern Welfare, Social Security, Banking Regulation, and Minimum Wage can be traced back to FDR’s response to the Great Depression.
