Parma-Sardinian War (1 mayo 1848 año – 9 dic 1848 año)
Descripción:
Following the end of Hapsburg rule over Parma, Sardinia began a massively successful campaign to unite the nation with Parma. By March, support for a war was high in Sardinia, prompting the Sardinian Demands; a list of 12 highly unfeasible demands that Parma had to meet by May or face war.
These demands were never intended to be followed, as they included things such as a one-sided unconditional alliance with Sardinia, expulsion of any remaining Austrians, and the limitation of the military to only 5000 men.
In May, Sardinia invaded and after a short siege, were able to capture the capital, Parma, forcing a surrender. The Treaty of Genoa saw the end of the Duchy of Parma, becoming a province within Sardinia.
