Black Death (1347 - 1460) (1 ene 1347 año – 1 ene 1460 año)

Descripción:

It ravaged the Indian Peninsula; then seized France, the Low Countries, (present-day Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg), Germany, and England. The overcrowded and unsanitary cities were particularly vulnerable. The poor, sleeping in crowded quarters, were, especially at risk. But master bakers, bankers, and aristocrats died too unless they were able to flee to the relatively safer countryside in time to escape infection. It was carried by the European black rat. The Black Death died down mostly after 1351 but lasted as late as the 15th century.

This greatly affected the image of the clergymen and negatively affected the public's view of Thomas Aquinas's rational Christianity.

It would return roughly every seven years throughout the rest of the century as well as sporadically throughout the 15th century.

About 25% to 50% of Europe's population perished.
