Reepsholt (1 ene 1 año – 1 ene 400 año)
Descripción:
A sleeved tunic recovered from the Reepsholt bog in Friesland is woven from a single piece of cloth, including the sleeves, and sewn together at the sides. It features a wide, boat-shaped neckline. The body measures approximately 115 cm in width, resulting in a notably loose-fitting garment, particularly when worn without a belt. Based on archaeological and typological evidence, the tunic has been dated to the second century AD.
The close resemblance between the Reepsholt tunic and the Coptic-style tunics of Egypt suggests that it may have been imported from the Roman world or produced under strong Roman influence.
