The Rule of Abd al-Rahman II was one with much prosperity, but also some wars.

First, he changed the administration of the Emirate of Cordoba to more align with the Abbasid Empire in Baghdad, which was currently in the Islamic Golden Age. This was a major turning point for the administration in Cordoba.

Next, he made a much needed extension to the Great Mosque of Cordoba. He first added 8 more naves, which are rows of arches. He additionally moved the prayer hall 26 meters south, allowing for more space.

However, through all of this, he still retained the same pattern from Abd al-Rahman I's original Mosque, showing how he still respected Abd al-Rahman's rule, while making it more accessible for the people of Cordoba, which had a muslim population of around 100,000 people.

But, he was also at war. Him and Alfonso II of Asturias were at war for nearly 20 years, with Alfonso wanting to expand the Christian territory more south. However, for Abd al-Rahman II, he also wanted to expand his power, but this came a grueling task. He expanded the military, and kept on pushing Asturias to the brink of extinction. However, in the end, Alfonso II was able to save Asturias from extinction.
