Indian ruler Ashoka dies and the Mauryan Empire declines within fifty years. (1 ene 232 año aC – 1 ene 23 año aC)
Descripción:
Ashoka, AKA Ashoka The Great, was an Ancient Indian emperor who ruled the Mauryan Empire for 36 years, dying at age 72. There are many theories surrounding how he died, including Natural Causes (Old Age, widely accepted), Assassination, or even a curse. Ashokas rule was then followed by about 50 years of weak kings, who did not retain strong authority. This led to the dissolution of the Mauryan Empire itself. Eventually, General Pusyamitra Sunga staged a coup against the Mauryan Dynasty in 185 BCE. He managed to ascend the throne and founded the Sunga Dynasty, which isn't the most talked about.
