The Government of India Act/The Montagu-Chelmsford reforms (1 feb 1919 año – 1 feb 1919 año)

Named after Edwin Montagu, teh Secretary of State, and Lord Chelmsford, the Viceroy. The Provincial Legislative councils were enlarged and the number of elected members increased and were given more powers. Dyarchy was introduced in which the governor of a province controlled departments like finance while the ministers (that answered to the legislature) handled departments like health and education.
