Austro-Prussian War (14 jun 1866 año – 23 agos 1866 año)

Prussia decided that they did not want Austria to have any presence in Schleswig and Holstein. Austria was goaded into war by Bismarck, although their military was far inferior to the Prussian military. Due to this difference, the war only lasted seven weeks as Prussia easily defeated Austria. Italy was the only country outside of the German Confederation to get involved in the conflict and sided with Prussia. As a reward for their help, Italy finally got Venice from the Austrians.
