"Social Behavior and exchange" (1 ene 1967 año – 1 ene 1967 año)
Descripción:
In 1958, American sociologist George Homans published an article titled "Social Behavior and exchange", which explored social exchange theory in relationships. Social exchange theory posits that relationships between people are created through a cost-benifet analysis, which is any analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a relationship. This is done in order to evaluate who is investing more into that relationship. This theory relies of several assumptions about human nature, assuming that people will try to get rewards and avoid punishment, people will engage in relationships and other interations in order to gain the greatest possible outcome with the least cost, people will calculate the cost and benifit of a relationship before they engage in it and each person will want a different reward for the relationship.
