Descripción:
Themistocles was known as the Savior of Athens from his victories over the Persians and his creation of the large Athenian navy while being a general and politician of Athens. His rule oversaw the advancement of Athenian power at sea and advancing Athen’s naval power with him overseeing the building of the main port of Athens, Piraeus. Despite his achievements, Themistocles remained a controversial politician theorised to be from his policies. Themistocles’ archonship had come to an end after he had successfully fled from Greece to escape his capture from the Spartans which led to the end of his political career.
