Also known as the Draconian Code, it was the first written legal code in Ancient Athens written by Athenian Lawmaker, Draco. The Laws of Draco were created to govern Athens and punish individuals for crimes with the punishments being harsh and extreme. The Draconian laws were known for its harsh and extreme punishments with almost all crimes being punishable by death and the laws being heavily criticised in modern society.
