Für Elise (Beethoven) (1 ene 1810 año – 1 ene 1810 año)

Descripción:

Für Elise by Ludwig van Beethoven is a piano solo composed on April 27, 1810. Despite the fame and notoriety of the piece today, it was not known during his lifetime. Instead, it was discovered and published 40 years after his death. Although the piece is famously said to have been dedicated to a student Beethoven loved, there is still debate on who the piece is written for. “The autograph manuscript of the work is lost and there is speculation that the title was originally Für Therese,” with the mistranslation caused by a misreading of Beethoven’s handwriting (Pavery). Therese is said to have been one of his former students he had unsuccessfully proposed to (ouch) during a time when Beethoven is experiencing progressive hearing loss (double ouch, poor guy). The most significant musically interesting moment is the start of the piece with the simple yet universally memorable melody that is cemented into pop culture. Für Elise is perhaps one of the first pieces that comes to mind regarding the topic due to its universally infamous melody and the enigmatic theories behind the piece.
