The Women's Suffrage Movement was an organization led by both men and women that fought for the security of women's rights. This lasted a total of 72 years, until women had finally been granted the right to vote listed as the 19th amendment passed in 1920. Supporters of this cause had protested, marched, lobbied, went hungry, and wrote letter to achieve the basic right of being about to vote and live freely in the United States. This movement permanently changed the lives of many in America, representing the official turning point in how women were treated during the time while breaking gender barriers across the nation.
