The Almohad Empire (1121–1269) (1 ene 1121 año – 1 ene 1269 año)
Descripción:
1121–1269 AD: The Almohad Empire was a Muslim state ruled by a Berber dynasty that dominated North Africa and the south of the Iberian Peninsula from 1121 to 1269. They succeeded in overthrowing the ruling Almoravid dynasty. After the fall of Lisbon (1147), the Taifas invited the Almohad caliphate to come to Al-Andalus and fight against the increasingly powerful Christians. They tried to unite the taifas by using the resistance against the Christians and the defense of Islamic purity as a propaganda element.
