The Great Depression (24 oct 1929 año – 1 jul 1941 año)

Descripción:

This was a period from 1929 to 1941 when the world economy was at a low and people went unemployed due to factories and businesses shutting down. The Great Depression lasted for around a decade, leading to the start of WWII. Part of this was the Rise of Adolf Hitler and the militaries in Japan. Germany’s citizens became frantic and open to fascism and communistic government due to their financial struggles. Hitler had people believing that Jewish people were causing the Depression. The Holocaust started from the hostility towards Jews, the Nazis wanting to exterminate all Jewish people.

In the U.S. the prohibition era was in place. Since the production and sale of alcohol was prohibited, breweries, bars, saloons, and distilleries were shut down which led to thousands of people losing their jobs. So this era did contribute to the Great Depression in terms of unemployment rates in the United States.
