1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine (5 mar 1936 año – 5 agos 1939 año)

Descripción:

Initially beginning as a series of relatively peaceful protests against British rule and Jewish immigration and land purchase, the Arab protests quickly became an all out revolt against British rule and the Jewish Yishuv in general. The shift was marked by the 1936 Tulkarm shooting and 1936 Jaffa riots (both further specified in other entries).

The strike was called off on 11 October 1936[79] and the violence abated for about a year while the Peel Commission deliberated, and with the failure of the Peel Commission's proposals the revolt resumed during the autumn of 1937 marked by the assassination of Lewis Andrews (further specified in another entry).

In total, 5,000 Arabs had died, 15,000 had been wounded, 108 were executed, 12,622 detained and 5 exiled.

262 British Security Forces had died, 550 wounde.

500 Jews had died, 2 executed.
