King Philip's War was a conflict between Native American tribes, led by Metacom (King Philip) of the Wampanoags, and English settlers in New England. The war, characterized by brutal violence and significant casualties on both sides, resulted in a decisive English victory, the death of Metacom, the decimation of Native American power in the region, and further Englsh colonization west.
