The war on drugs is the policy of a global campaign led by the United States federal government, of drug prohibition, military aid military intervention with the aim of reducing the illegal drug trade in the US. The term was coined 1971 by Richard Nixon. It was majorly enforced within the Reagan administration, which led to mass incarceration and ultimately to the disenfrenchisment of African American inmates.
